Most of the books to be listed here will be children's books. However I have just finished my fish-ing related book "Tall and Fishy Tales" and it is now for sale - see listing. This has just been added-to by another book I have put together along the same lines, except the subject this time is animals "Ants to Elephants"..
After writing hundreds of poems on many different subjects, I decided to try my hand at putting together some children's rhyming stories. At first, I found it quite difficult to write at such a simplified level, but soon the words flowed and the project became most enjoyable.
I have drawn and painted all the illustrations myself, and created a page or two in some of the books, for colouring-in. Inside the back cover there is a simple puzzle, and on the back of each is a "farewell" from the subject of the story. These books have been selling steadily and I have had much feedback, all of it positive, telling me that the children really enjoy them.
There are now two colouring books which I can personalise if requested, with a child's photo on the front cover and references to their name throughout. These for the younger children and comprised of simple line drawings to colour in, together with letters of the alphabet.
Also - a colouring book for slightly older children, with a typical New Zealand theme and some Maori names used where appropriate, plus a little information on the subject.
There is a book about numbers, which could be seen as a learning curve on the subject of arithmetic (or is it called "maths" now?)
Having written many general poems over the years, I have recently chosen all those from the collection which are about fishing or to do with the sea. These I have compiled into a fishing poems book. I have done all the computer work on these books myself and laser print them as well.
I've been working on illustrating more of my children's poems to turn into individual books but all this takes time and has to be worked in with other things going on as well.
So.........books will be listed as soon as I can do this, and I hope to get the list complete for now, then added to over a period of time.

This is a lively story about Harvey, who is a busy (but forgetful) honey bee.
His concentration is about zero this particular day when he's supposed to be out searching for pollen. He gets distracted by a cat and some insects along the way.
Poor Harvey might be in for a telling off at the end of the day, but hey ..............let the kid read the story.
I've read some of my rhyming stories to primary school children in class, with a great response from the audience.
There is a simple word puzzle inside the back cover and answers inside the front cover.
Age level - from about 6 upwards (with a few harder words thrown in to stretch the vocabulary).

All the pages in this book are colour-in pages. The pictures feature well-known and recognised New Zealand icons, both flora and fauna.
Together with the drawing outline there is information about the subject, and where applicable the Maori name as well.
The wish to colour these pictures may be backed up by some research as to correct colouring, which hopefully will encourage the young artist to find out more about each subject.
Ages about 6 - 10 years, possibly older.

This book has colour on just about every page, except a black and white page for colouring.
It takes the young reader through possibilities, page by page, of "what I might be", till all is revealed at the end.
The last pages show a big picture of the monarch butterfly, caterpillar and chrysalis, and some information on the Monarch's life cycle.
Inside the back cover is a simple crossword puzzle, and answers from throughout the book are printed on the front inside cover.
Big letters for the young reader. Informative as well.

There are two different sets of pictures for this colouring book. All the drawings are done by myself.
Letters of the alphabet are on each page, together with the number of the letter in the alphabet.
If you wish to buy a personalised colouring book, just send me a good quality picture of your child, and their name, and I will add the photo to the front cover of the book and replace the word "Personalised" with the child's name.
Let me know which set of pictures is required.

These rhyming stories about animals are selected from a wealth of poems I've written over the years. (If you wish to check out a few samples, please refer to the "Poetry" section on this website.)
Some of them feature our little dog's antics, and there are those about cats, farm animals, birds etc. Also for good measure I've included my own imaginative short stories about insects (with names) and the Monarch butterfly.
It seemed appropriate to add to the collection one which was written as a children's story - about goldfish.
A few are wistful but most are along humorous lines.
This books is chok-full of poems, colour, sketches and pictures, and will hopefully be an amusing read for anyone interested.
