General
This section covers a wide range of subjects, mostly in the realism style. Here I have depicted scenes such as the simplicity of the moon taking centre stage in the night sky -the minimum of fuss for the "less is more" effect.
On through a range of across-the-board subjects that have taken my fancy, a wide selection of animals and birds, through to the complexities of the "Kestrel" ferryboat portrait. This latter was the culmination of childhood memories of multiple crossings from Auckland to Devonport and back - an icon from the past, captured in my rather large painting.
There are landscapes, plants and flowers, and a few still-life. As always, the flavour of the sea comes through in many of my paintings, all of which are painted in acrylic, unless stated otherwise.
My latest enthusiasm is for painting scenes of the surf waves - so much the same but yet each so totally unique and different.
