I glimpse in places, metal track, But nature wants her boundaries back From cuttings, mostly overgrown, Reclaiming what was once her own. No longer traced by bursts of steam, Or burnished bright with silver gleam, These iron rails will never again Support the weight of a moving train. Weeds may cover every trace, And time will all the scars erase, What could have been a freight train load, Will be transported via road.
